EXECUTIVE SESSION
At 18:31, R. Wilsey made a motion that the Board go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing employment legal or other matters.
At 19:20, the Board exited Executive Session and the Special meeting resumed. S. Shuler made a motion to reinstate Sierra Marchese as a Mendon Firefighter. This was seconded by R. Wilsey and was approved by majority vote of those commissioners in attendance: 4-0-0. The record should reflect that Commissioner Morrell had left the meeting during the executive session.
In answer to M. Arman’s question of ‘how will this be communicated to the Department’, R. Wilsey indicated he was sending out an email to the membership.
LEADERSHIP / PERSONNEL
Youth Protection Training
There was discussion with respect to the various course selections/implementations of Youth Protection training that will become part of the annual training in support of the Restricted Active Members (e.g. RAM) program.
There was discussion regarding changes made by the Department’s Board of Directors with respect to Department’s RAM Guidelines & Policy document regarding Youth Protection and Two-Deep Leadership. The District made a request to the Department that is modify the language to more explicitly label the adult leaders as either certified, or eligible to be certified to work with youth 18 and under.
