2021 ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE MENDON FIRE DISTRICT

LEGAL NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Mendon Fire District will take place on December 14, 2021 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Mendon Fire House located at 101 Mendon-Ionia Road, for the purpose of (1)electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2022; and (2) Voting “yes” or “no” on the Public Referendum for the creation of a Length of Service Award Program for Active Volunteer Firefighter Members of the Mendon Fire Department. All voters living in the Mendon Fire District and registered with the Monroe County Board of Elections shall be eligible to vote.

Candidate Petitions may be obtained by contacting John McGinnis @ 585-734-0692. Candidates for District Office must be registered voters residing in the Mendon Fire District and have no felony convictions for arson and/or sex offenses. Candidates shall have filed their Petitions with the Secretary of the Mendon Fire District, at the Fire House at 101 Mendon-Ionia Road, no later than 3pm, 20 days before the election: November 23, 2020.

An absentee ballot may be requested from the Secretary of the Mendon Fire District and the voter requesting an absentee ballot must include their name and residence address in their request. Any questions should be addressed to the District Secretary whose contact information is noted below. AN ABSENTEE BALLOT CAN BE REQUESTED BETWEEN THE DATES OF 11/4/2020 AND 11/23/2021.
